I love that the TiVo now is able to record HD — and that is by far one of my favorite new specifications, that and 45 hours to record! If you go away on vacation, as I just recently did, you are able to come back to a whole weeks worth of TV!

Another feature which I think is a must is the ability to take your recordings with you. You can transfer them to your computer (and burn them) or you can transfer them to your iPhone, iPad, or other mobile device. Have you ever been somewhere and your toddler decides to act up? I always have great luck streaming Netflix on my iPhone, however because it's streaming, I need a mobile connection to do so! However TiVo will allow you to completely transfer your recordings so you don't have to be somewhere with 5 bars and 3G to be able to watch your recordings.
