Gearing Up For Summer Birthday Parties

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1. All opinions are 100% mine.

This year we have not one but two summer birthday parties. Carli will be turning three and Katelyn will be having her very first birthday. Since last summer we have moved and are now living in a bigger place on a beautiful lake. For the first time (ever) we will be having their birthday party at our house.

The problem is we have a porch but no porch furniture. Luckily Pier 1 has some great furniture and decorations available for entertaining outside. Our apartment complex has a semi-Spanish Colonial feel to it with the red clay looking tiled roofs and porches with plants and vines and complementary furniture really look great. For example, I really liked the Outdoor Ciudad Corner Chair (along with the matching side chairs to form an ‘L’ shape.) I think with the right plants, our outdoor space wiill look wonderful.

To really spice up the area, Pier 1  also has some fantastic decor pieces with a real ‘wow’ factor. Maybe adding a few complimentary seasonal throw pillows or a rug. They had a nice blue paisley rug that was about 4 feet wide and 6 feet long for only $30. What a bargain! Rugs are usually quite pricey in generael but it’s nice to know you can find affordable accents that don’t break your budget!

I think some spring must haves are anything that will embody “spring” such as planters that can hold new plants that are blossoming after a cold, dry winter. (Well.. the few days of cold us Floridians had this year.)

They also have their infamous papasan (that always reminds me of one of my best friends) and it has evolved into an outdoor papasan. Have you even tried a papsan? Talk about comfort.

There are really things for almost every taste! It makes me wish we had a bigger porch so we could really go all out and make our porch a real living space. However, even for the small space that we have, Pier 1 can really help make it a space worth showing off and entertaining.

Pier 1 also has serving dishes and trays for food needs, which is great because we’ll have a lot of food to serve! I am really happy we have a store so close. I have a store about five minutes away from where I live in Central Florida.

Pier 1 also has meetups with twitter followers in selected big cities. They had a Pier 1 Tweetups in Orlando last month. I wish I would have known about it sooner! It would have been awesome to have met some friendly fellow tweeps. Maybe next year. ;)
