We received this toy (My First Purse Toy – $12.95) from Growing Tree Toys a few weeks ago – after the slow of the holiday let up. I handed it to Carli (my 20 month old) and she went “Oooh!”
For a good 20 minutes she sat down, exploring her purse — taking out her pretend cell phone, “Yeah. Yeah. No. Bye! Bye!” and applying her pretend lipstick. (Of course she has to apply her pretend lipstick on me too, of course!)
The purse, a girly pink and purple, is soft to the touch with heavy duty velcro to close the purse from little hands. Inside is a mirror, cell phone, lipstick, keys, carrying case and little debit card. (So like her mother, right?)
Since receiving this purse, Carli likes to carry it everywhere. She slugs it over her arm, carrying it in the nook of her elbow pit – and walks around telling me, “Bye! Bye!” She has her purse so she has places to go, people to see!
On one occasion I was applying snaps to cloth diapers that I had made when all of the sudden I feel a tap on my shoulder. My daughter, who had escaped her confines — purse in hand, came to find me. “What are ya doing?” she asks me. She reeked confidence with that purse of hers! It really has become one of her favorite toys! (Even over some of her Elmo things!)
I absolutely love this purse (as does my daughter) and I cannot wait to order more toys from Growing Tree Toys, who carries a wide stock of educational and fun toys for our little ones. If you need a gift for a loved one — especially the wee ones — I definitely recommend their products (especially this purse!)
