There is no denying my obsession with my iPhone as it remains a permanent fixture in my hand. Even last night, as I was tweeting away from the comfort of my bed (and Forrest was playing with apps on his) he joked that “This is what we do. We lay in bed, side by side, and play with our iPhones!” (Oh, aren’t we so romantic!) But – it’s true. We’re both very tech savvy and enjoy what the iPhone adds to our every day lives.
My iPhone goes where I go (and as of right now) it’s currently plugged into my computer and charging. (I mean- what if I have to go somewhere and the battery runs out!) Often using it as my sanity breaker, not quite sure how I could handle being bored out of my mind in some sort of situation and not having my iPhone to back me up with some quality entertainment.
Currently I use my iPhone to take a lot of pictures and videos of my daughter, Carli. Carli is at this really funny and impressionable age – doing the most random things. It’s nice to whip out my phone and shoot the video when the perfect moment presents itself.
If it weren’t for this little piece of equipment, I would miss out on capturing cute moments that I can re-watch at my own will – like this one video I took of Carli a few weekends ago. We were at her Dad’s work because he was on call and she found a stack of phones. She wanted to call her “Memaw” but – I guess she was mad at Memaw (or something?) Because she sure had some choice words!
I also use my iPhone to read a lot of books or listen to books on tape. The only issues I have with this, is that I can’t always sit there with my phone and listen to a book. When I put it in my pocket, it muffles the sound. If I use earphones, my daughter likes to pull them out of my ears. I was very determined to find something else to allow me to broadcast my audio books so they are loud enough to be heard through out the room. Ideally I would like to be able to clean or tend to my daughter, but be able to listen to books on tape via my iPhone. But how?
Yamaha has created a portable dock system for your iPhone called the Yamaha PDX-60. It comes in a variety of colors, from classic black and cool grey – to a girly pink. (I personally would want pink, though Forrest would never go for it). It seems as if there is a color for every taste available.
While checking out their website (features are important, you know) I noticed how you can use both your iPhone and iPod and the devices will charge as they’re sitting on the dock. If you’re worried about draining your battery listening to music (or in my case – books), it doesn’t seem like that will be a problem with this docking system. It almost seems as if Yamaha’s already thought of everything.
The PDX-60 seems to be appropriate for what I am needing in a docking system, as well as having the minimalist look that my husband is fond of. It has a nice mixture of style and function and seems like something that would be a perfect fit for my household and its needs. Coming from the well-known company, Yamaha, you know it’s a system you can trust. Anything that can help me stay productive (clean the house and care for the little one) but still allow me to listen to my books seems to be quite the necessity fit for any home.

I am also an iPhone addict! I’ve had mine for 10 months and I’m never very far from it. I wish my husband would get one so he would understand my obsession.
