J.Kay created a Meme for Mondays where you list the books you have recently completed this week, books you are currently reading, and books you hope to read this week.
The books I have read in the past week:
- Dead as a Doornail by Charlaine Harris
Did I REALLY only read one book this week? It was a crazy week, that is for sure. We had a health scare with my daughter and that took an entire day as we jumped from doctor to doctor. Luckily she is perfectly healthy (minus the whole “teething molars” and cold thing.)
Books I am currently reading:
- Night Runner by Max Turner (Will probably finish today)
Books I plan on reading this week:
- 101 Habits of Highly Successful Novelists: Insider Secrets from Top Writers by Andrew McAleer
- Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris
- Eat, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss
Last week I had set out to read Watch the Hour. My mind was just so wrapped up in a bunch of serious things this week that I couldn’t sink into this book, even though from the pages that I’ve read were written well. I just sensed that it would be a deep novel and I needed an escape from the deep. Do you know what I mean? I hope to pick it up soon because it seems truly interesting. Maybe because I am part Irish and it’s about a man who falls in love with an Irish girl.
My selection(s) this week are to help prep me for #NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org , National Novel Writing Month). Luckily I’ve had a lot of great support so far from my Twitter pals who have really helped me sort through my thoughts.
What are YOU reading?

I keep seeing Harris’ novels, so I guess I best pick up one and read.

Unfortunately that novel isn’t available on Amazon.. I have to talk to the author about that. I think you can order it from his website, though?
Night Runner looks awesome! I will eventually read the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Thank you, Crystal! I am glad everything is okay too! It really scared us!
Dead as a Doornail was probably my least favorite of the ones I’ve read so far.. which was strange since it revolved around the weres and I really love weres!
So glad to hear that your daughter is okay!
I hope you’re enjoying Night Runner – I keep hearing really good things about it.

Thank you, Alita!
So far I am REALLY enjoying Night Runner. It’s a pretty quick read and not at ALL like I expected! It’s a very different spin on a current literary trend. I thought it was an adult novel when I got it, but as I am reading it – I definitely picture it more YA but even so – I am REALLY liking it!
LOLOL! I know exactly how you feel. At least your book had more words in it. Mine was mostly cartoons! Can’t believe you are reading Night Runner! I so want to read that book!!

I’ve only read the first Charlaine Harris novel. I much prefer the series and watching Eric get nekkid.
Not really a fan of Harris’ writing but she does have a great imagination. Coincidentally, I have Lynn Truss’ book out on loan too!
