Izea’s New Brainchild – Sponsored Tweets
Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Sponsored Tweets. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am a little partial to Izea, a Central Florida business (have passed by their office multiple times in Downtown Orlando) who offers bloggers the chance to make a few extra bucks doing what they enjoy doing- blogging.
I joined up with Izea sometime in early 2008, just before Carli was born and did a few posts and sponsorships and enjoyed the extra pocket change it brought me. What is so great about their services and opportunities is – you don’t have to take everything that is offered to you. If it’s not appropriate for your site, or not a product or service you believe in then you don’t have to accept it.
Even better, you choose what areas your blog would fall under. For example, I fall under Arts & Entertainment and Families so most likely the companies I work with will be geared towards that interest. Doing this allows you find sponsors that will be a great fit for your blog’s content.
Over the past two years Izea has exploaded into a series of optional social sites, allowing bloggers various opportunities to network with some of the biggest name companies such as Sears, Target, Kmart, etc. Now Izea has taken over Twitter and offering a new form of paid sponsorship called Sponsored Tweets.

The great thing about Sponsored Tweets is that you set the price. You can select how you would like to receive notifications (via DM [direct message] or through email. It also tells you, based on your twitter following how much they think you should charge (so you’re remaining in the competitive range). There is no second guessing or underestimating your woth. It helps you decide!
Izea (i.e. Sponsored Tweets) also abides by a strong code of ethics. Every sponsored tweet must include/will have:
- Mandatory Disclosure
- Freedom of Authenticity
- Freedom of Choice
- Transparency of Identity
So – yes, Izea and all it’s various sponsored blog/twitter programs are completely FTC compliant.
If you’re interested, here are the qualifications to become a Tweeter for Sponsored Tweets:
- Your blog must be 120 days old. (That’s it!)
I love working with Izea, and you will too! If you want to join in on the programs available, feel free to sign up for sponsored tweets and tell them that Allison from Well-Read Reviews sent you!
