I knew after last week’s crazy book receiving, this week would slow down a little. Even so, I was happy with everything I received!
- Powers by John B. Olson (ISBN: 978-0-8054-4735-4) Publisher Sent
- Eragon by Christopher Paolini (ISBN: 0-375-82669-6) Book Mooch
- Tom Comes to Dinner by Tenaya Jacob (ISBN: 0-9764295-7-8) Publisher Sent
So far I am really liking Book Mooch. I had a bad experience with SwapTree (which I won’t even link to because I am still really mad at them) in which I sent out a book but someone didn’t properly package mine in return and the empty envelope arrived months later. It was very frustrating that I couldn’t get the book back that I had sent out since it was a three way swap. SwapTree gives me answers to “hold me over” but has refused to reimburse me somehow. I think they need to fix that somehow so people aren’t getting ripped off like I did.
Book Mooch gives you points for books you send out, and then you “spend” the points on books you want to receive. Supposedly (and I haven’t needed to try this yet, thankfully) but if you never receive your book – you are reimbursed back your points. I think that is a MUCH better method for dealing with potential issues with mail fraud, etc. I just wish people were obligated to add a delivery confirmation #, as I always do. It shows whether or not an item was delivered and it helps ease the fears of the person in waiting as to where their item may be!
If you want to buddy up with me on Book Mooch you can find me under “WellRadReviews” – yes, a typo! I don’t know how that happened other than it MAY possibly have involved some good Puerto Rican rum. Though that is just a speculation.

Thanks for visiting my mailbox, Allison. I was just moping because Canadians cannot join Paperback Swap when I discovered Book Mooch! I will take a closer look at this and also the buddy system you mentioned. Thanks!

Awe about not being able to join Paperback Swap. I know that Book Mooch allows worldwide readers so I recommend them!
I liked Eragon, but thought Eldest dragged a bit which is why I haven’t picked up Brisingr yet. Hope you enjoy!Alaynehttp://thecrowdedleaf.wordpress.com/

I’ve been wanting to read Eragon for a while now because I’ve seen that novel everywhere for years! Maybe Brisingr is better than Eldest?

I’ve heard about paperback swap! (But just recently!) I’ll have to check that program out, too!
I haven’t tried any of the book swap sites yet but they seem to be pretty popular and a great idea. So sorry to hear Swaptree didn’t work out. That’s so frustrating when they won’t help solve a problem.
I just finished The Maze Runner and really liked it! Hope you enjoy it too!

Yeah! It was frustrating! It opens it up to sending out books and not getting ones in return. (What is the point of that?!)
LOVED the Maze Runner and am working on my review in a few minutes!
