CrunchmasterMulti-GrainCrackersIt’s not every day that I’ll be discussing food, but with this item.. I just had to. After all, I am pregnant and food is a top priority (right up there with not not having morning sickness and developing a healthy embryo turn fetus).

Forrest and I were at Sam’s Club a few days ago looking for healthy snacks for me. Part of controlling morning sickness in first trimester preggos is to keep something light in your stomach as much as you can.

We’re in the bakery, looking for crackers when I saw this box. It was about $6-ish and a bit pricier than the other options.  On the front it read, “Certified Gluten Free!” and that caught my attention since my bestie, Blair – is possibly allergic to gluten and is trying a gluten free diet. Below reads:

  • All Natural
  • Oven Baked
  • 100% Whole Grain
  • Cholesterol Free
  • Low Sodium

Okay, so it doesn’t look or sound at all that appetizing… Then being twice as much as the other crackers didn’t seem all that great. But as I am trying to eat healthier this time around in my pregnancy with Bug and not gain unnecessary weight. (But who really does?)

Forrest said these were probably my best bet for eating healthier and so I decided to risk it. After all, I would be pairing it with some healthy cheese chunks so I figured if they were bad, at least the cheese was there to soften the blow of bland.

It was a good sign, however, when we get to the cash register and the attendant goes, “Oh you’ll love these! These are sooooo good!” Both my husband and I smiled, happy with our purchase.

After I got home, I decided to try them out with some good slices of Cabot Sharp Cheddar.  I was very pleasantly surprised that not only were they not bland, but they were tasty, crunchy, and oh-so-addictive! They give me the feeling that I am eating chips, rather than crackers. They have the right pinch of salt to really give you that snack-feeling! Plus the sesame seeds give the Crunch Master Multi-Grain Crackers the perfect touch of flavor! And what is great is that for only 140 calories, you can get 15 delicious crackers! (Plus 3 grams of protein) It also contains 8% iron, which is great for a growing baby.

Ingredients

Brown Rice Meal, Sesame Seeds, Potato Starch, Quinoa Seeds, Safflower Oil, Flax Seeds, Amaranth Seeds, Tamari Soy Sauce Powder, Corn, Salt. (Contains Soy)

It has great ingredients in the crackers, making it not only delicious but healthy, too! I seriously think they would be a great addition to a party, or to a child’s lunch (sneak in the healthy foods) or for hanging around the house and needing something munchy and crunchy to fulfill a craving!
