My Printer, My Partner in Crime.

Partner in Crime

I sew and I sew a lot. Therefore I use up a LOT of printer ink. (I can see how you’re struggling to make the connection with sewing to printing). You see, I prefer PDF patterns. As I completely despise physical patterns that I have to trace and cut out before using, I usually purchase patterns that have a .PDF option so I can print out as many copies as I need. Then when that printed copy gets messed up (usually due to one of my children getting a hold of a piece) then I can print out another copy. This pattern preference of mine requires a lot (big keyword there) of printing. The average computer user may go a year or more before having to refill a printer toner cartridge. Me, less than six months. It’s true. Right now, I can’t even print any more from my printer because it claims it is out of toner. Gah!

Toner is expensive, at least from what I remember from the last time I bought toner for my cheap Brother HL 2040. I really needed to find a place that would sell me some cheap ink for my printing needs. I need to sew again. I must — yet I can’t without the partnership of my printer and my printer needs ink! I was asked to take a look at the website InkGrabber.com and check out what they had to offer and their current specials. Before checking out the site, I swore I would be impressed if they even have the right toner for my model printer, and sure enough they do. They have hundreds of different printers and models available with their appropriate toners or inkjet cartridges. They have popular name brands as well as brands that I have never even heard of. Impressive.

The cost of the toner I need for my machine is only $36.99 or I could get two (would be wise) for $72.99 (a slight discount on buying more than one). I feel better knowing that it’s an affordable replacement. Considering my printer was only $110 to begin with, being a toner using printer — replacements can often be expensive. $36.99 for a replacement toner is well in the affordable price range. Plus if you like InkGrabber on Facebook, then you get 10% off any size order. I really liked that despite needing to deliver products, InkGrabber really makes the effort to go as green as possible and minimizing their carbon footprint. (I really should follow by their lead and not use so much paper and strive to be more green, myself!) It’s always admirable when companies do what they can to minimize damage to our environment. InkGrabber also offers tracking on their orders, which is a must do, in my book. I like knowing when to expect a product and according to the website, it should only take about 3-5 business days which is not too shabby. Looks like I may have found a new place for ink!
