My family owns the Playstation 3. We absolutely adore it, love it — and use it often. But as of yet we use it primarily just for streaming movies from popular companies. But now there is a new accessory available called PlayStation(R)MOVE which allows you to become more interactive with your games; to get up and move!
Back before Forrest and I moved out to Deltona (and too far away from friends) — we use to have our buddies come over and play games with us on our play systems. Dinner and a few drinks, play systems were always a lot of fun with your friends (yes, even for us adults!) There was always a ton of laughter. Really helps you keep in touch with your inner child.
Now that we are moving back to Lake Mary, we will be closer to our friends again and with the new PlayStation(R)MOVE, it adds a whole new demension to party gaming. I know it sounds a bit geeky, but I am pretty excited about that. I can picture getting together with friends and taking a few sips of Forrest's special alcholic beverage whenever I lose at a mini challenge.. and just having a lot of laughs. Like the good 'ol days.
Even though our kids are a little too young for (age appropriate) PlayStation(R)MOVE usage now, I am sure Carli have a lot of fun in a year or two when she has better coordination. I imagine it would help out with eye-hand coordination as well as something her and her sister can do together. Maybe in their case, winner gets a cookie. 
There are also other things you can do to really have fun with the new PlayStation(R)MOVE accessory/concept — you get exercise! You're up and moving and working up a sweat. You're not just sitting there and letting your fingers do all the work. Your whole body gets a little work out.

I love gaming.. and I love when gaming becomes as interactive as possible. I can't wait to try out the PlayStation(R)MOVE ! (Do you know you can add it to your existing PlayStation3 for only $99 with the MOVE bundle package?) So it's not another HUGE expense.. it's pretty affordable!
