It is not even Thanksgiving and we’re thinking about Christmas already. I don’t blame you. In today’s economy, we have to really plan what we want to get our loved ones and make each dollar stretch. The big thing that I am seeing this year are people’s request for stocking stuffers.
Growing up, my parents always stocked my stocking (and my brother’s stocking) with useful things (and occasional things like jewelry or gift cards, etc.) As kids aren’t quite as humored by a stocking of shampoo, DVDs (and books, of course!) are a great addition to your stocking.
I received this DVD for review a while ago, but have waited until now to offer it as as a review/giveaway because I think it would be wonderful as a holiday gift for your little dancer.
I danced when I was little and although I no longer have the flexibility, agility, or body – dancing will always be a part of my life. I will always have a huge appreciation for the talent, dedication, and passion dancers have. When my (then 3 year old) began to show a big interested in dancing and ballerina’s, I was thrilled to get her into dance class.
When I was sent a copy (two, if you include the giveaway copy), I was thrilled to be able to introduce my girls to this world famous ballet. I really looked forward to see how they would in introduce the dance to children and if it would capture my little girls’ attention.
The girls were captivated by the dancing ballet fairy, and loved seeing other little girls dancing. The ballet video had snippets of The Nutcracker performed by a professional dance company (and not performed by children). I think it would have been nice, however, if they had shown kids dancing The Nutcracker, instead. Even though children don’t tend to be as graceful as a professional dancer, I think it could have been a LITTLE bit more relatable if the dancers doing the dance had been children.
Even so, my girls stand in front of the television when this DVD is on, and love twirling and following along. A cute little video for your little prima princessa. If you have a girly girl on your hands, then they will appreciate this wonderful stocking stuffer.
