Title: Dead to the World (#4 in the series)
Author: Charlaine Harris
ISBN: 978-0-441-01218-3
Pages: 310
Rating: ★★★★½

Synopsis: (Taken from back of book)

It’s not every day that you come across a naked man on the side of the road. That’s why cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse doesn’t just drive on by. Turns out the poor thing hasn’t a clue who he is, but Sookie does. It’s Eric the vampire – but now he’s a kinder, gentler Eric. And a scared Eric because whoever took his memory now wants his life. Sookie’s investigation into who and why leads straight into a dangerous battle among witches, vampires, and werewolves. But a greater danger could be to Sookie’s heart – because this version of Eric is very difficult to resist…

Review:

One word comes to mind – HOTNESS! However- like the previous novel, there is a part that’s bothering me – like the previous book’s synopsis, it was not exactly accurate. Eric wasn’t even naked! He had jeans on and underwear! He was running barefoot and shirtless. For a guy, I’d hardly call that naked. When I read the synopsis, I figured he would be butt-naked, head to toe. But that was not the case. Another “mistake”? It bothered me. Trivial, but still. They need to be more careful because it’s kind of leading the reader to think it’s about something, and it doesn’t exactly happen that way. Sort of false advertising in a way?

But even so – this book was great (at least I thought so!) You get to know another side of Eric; a side in which you think to yourself, “Sookie – why are you still hung up on Bill? He’s all wrong for you!” and then you think she should be with someone else. This book was deliciously good.

There are new “sups” (well, sort of) that we are introduced to in this novel. Weres(shifters) that are part witch and drink vampire blood! Dangerous, dangerous, dangerous. Not only is Eric suddenly mentally weak (which I can’t say at all bothered me, as I liked the *new* Eric), but Sookie’s brother goes missing. Dead to the World will have you turning page after page.. and have you wanting more.
