Synopsis: (Taken from Amazon.com)
In this new graphic novel edition of the very first BABY-SITTERS CLUB book, Raina Telgemeier captures all the drama of the original in warm, spunky illustrations.
Witness Kristy’s eureka moment, when she gets the idea for a “baby-sitters club” and enlists her best friends, shy Mary Anne and artistic Claudia, in an exciting new venture. But the baby-sitting business isn’t the only thing absorbing their attention: Kristy is having a hard time accepting her stepdad-to-be, and the newest member of the gang, Stacey, seems to be hiding a secret.
Review:
When I discovered via Twitter that there was a Baby-Sitter’s Club graphic novel – I just about peed my pants. (Okay, not really – but can you sense my excitement?) I think it’s already pretty well known that I enjoy a good graphic novel and I am a long time Baby-Sitter’s Club fan. Mixing the two seemed like a great idea – but somehow, this adaptation of the first book in the series, Kristy’s Great idea, fell flat.
The thing about Manga or graphic novels, is you expect a certain amount of wit and humor. In Kristy’s Great Idea, there was none. I was rather sad and a bit disappointed, but – even so – It wasn’t horrible. It was just.. not captivating. We’re going through the meeting of the characters, learning where everyone is from, and everyone in each families. It felt more like I was reading, “An introduction to..” rather than a novel.
I could take or leave it, when it comes to the first Baby-Sitter’s Club graphic novel. I will give #2 a try, The Truth About Stacey (which is actually #3 in the book series) because I have learned that you can’t always judge a book by its first. (If you can recall, I wasn’t completely impressed with Dead Until Dark in the Sookie Stackhouse series). I am going to keep this book because I am a fan of the Baby-Sitter’s Club and it may be something that Carli likes reading when she is older.

I loved the BSC books and I am currently going through the process of rereading them starting with the first book. I didn’t even know there were graphic novels until BSC week and I know I’m going to have to find them now. Interesting review!

I was thinking rereading the series too! Too bad many of them aren’t in print anymore!
They really should reconsider running the whole series for a whole new generation of readers!
I just finished this one, but I absolutely loved it! I’m so glad I discovered it. I’ll post my review tomorrow. I’ve already requested the next three in the series at the library. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it as much as I did!

how can I read all the 4 graphic novels online?

You may be able to purchase them online, but I do not approve of leeching them online as it does not help out the author who makes their money on royalties (and pennies at that).
If you are interested in the graphic novels at a discount, I recommend purchasing them from a used book market.
I read all the original books of the BSC books, but I haven’t read any of the graphic novels because where I live they aren’t currently in any of the book stores
But I did read Raina Telgemeier’s book called Smile and I loved it !!
