REVIEW: IntelliCeuticals Nature’s Nipple Prep *GIVEAWAY* (10/31)

By the makers of IntelliGender!

About Intelliceuticals Nature’s Nipple Prep:

(info from their site) Breast feeding is such a wonderful part of the maternity experience, allowing a special time for bonding between you and your baby.  But with all the wonderful emotion, discomfort can arise from dryness and cracking of the tender skin.  IntelliCeutical’s Nature’s Nipple Prep is a soothing cream intended to help maintain healthy skin tone around the nipple both prior to birth and once you begin nursing.

benefits:

  • Provides consistent moisture around the nipple area
  • Soothes the area immediately after nursing
  • Helps to sustain a relaxed breastfeeding experience

what are the ingredients?

Nature’s Nipple Prep is a 100% natural formula which contains the following carefully selected ingredients in therapeutic dosage:

  • Calc flour (6X) is a biochemic tissue salt recommended for sensitive skin, such as the nipples and any area of skin exposed to friction or cold.
  • Marigold (Calendula officinalis) is an herbal ingredient used to promote skin health.
  • Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is a recognized as a soothing herb with unique properties for supporting skin health and sensitivity.
  • Silica (6X) is another biochemic tissue sale which is critical in the maintenance of healthy skin as it is the primary component in all connective body tissue.
  • Vitamin E oil is extensively used as a skin remedy. Many people use Vitamin E products topically to ensure the best possible skin condition.

This product contains no harmful petrochemicals, sodium lauren sulfate (SLS) or parabens. This product is not tested on animals, contains no animal products, glutens, artificial colors, preservatives or flavors and is suitable for lacto-vegetarians.

how do i use?

  • Before birth: Lightly massage onto the nipple and surrounding area two to three times a day throughout the last 2 – 3 weeks of pregnancy.
  • After birth: Immediately after breastfeeding, wipe the nipple area with a fresh damp washcloth. Lightly massage Nature’s Nipple Prep into the nipple and surrounding area. Wipe clean with a warm washcloth before the next nursing session.

I received a sample of IntelliCeuticals Nature’s Nipple Prep in the mail from the company. The container was small and compact so it would easily find a place in my purse (or diaper bag) without taking up much room. I’ve tried a bunch of creams for cracked or painful nipples due to breastfeeding but haven’t been wowed by anything prior to trying the nipple prep so I was excited to try something new, that I haven’t tried before!

The Nature’s Nipple Prep has a very smooth and light feeling to it. It glides over your skin with ease (and feels as if it is more water based than oil) because it blends in very quickly. It has a cool feeling to it and does not leave an oily residue feeling on your fingers. Because of it’s light base, I did not worry that it would stain my clothing, as other creams have. The scent of the Nature’s Nipple Prep is very light in fragrance and hardly noticeable at all unless you make it a mission to smell it.

After I applied it, I let it air dry. I then wiped it off with a cool wet cloth prior to nursing again. (Having to actually do this is my only complaint). My skin was very soft and I actually felt as if my skin had soaked it in for moisture and healing. I definitely would recommend it to those who need the extra moisture boost (i.e. beginning their breastfeeding journey). My nipples have become accustomed to breastfeeding so I don’t often need soothing ointment anymore but I do have a friend who just had a baby last Monday and could benefit from the IntelliCeuticals Nature’s Nipple Prep.

With several different nipple ointments to choose from this one looks unique due to the fact that the company is using several homepathic remedies in the ingredients, I have yet to find that in a nipple ointment. I also like that is has Vitamin E to help heal skin tissue. I will definitely keep an eye out for this product as I get closer to my due date!

    Thanks,
    Colleen
