I was in need of a new flat iron. I had somehow lost my CHI in the move and my hair is not the kind of hair that you can just let airdry. You know, it’s the kind of hair that wishes to be curly (and sometimes it is) but in the hot Florida heat, it ends up becoming a frizzy mess. It’s mostly why I need a flat iron.
Good flat irons will make your hair manageable and soft, smooth, and silky. They should tame even the wildest of hair (especially those itty bitty fly aways that frame your face). I was partial to my CHI, but I really wanted to try something else.
I had the opportunity to test and review a tourmaline straightener called the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Styling Iron. Even the box it comes in is just pretty. The iron itself is tiny in comparison of others I have had in the past. It’s lightweight and very modern.
The on off switch (as well as temperature gauge) is on the inside. If you look at the picture on the left, you can see a little plastic shield where the temperature gauge is. I’ve never seen a flat iron that will allow you to set it to a specific temperature. The ones I’ve had in the past just say, “Low – Med – High”. So this was truly pretty cool.
The first thing I did was took the iron to my bangs. Because of its size I was able to get really close to my roots, which means no wavy roots when you’re straightening your hair (which can be a problem if you have very tight curls!) Within seconds, my bangs were perfectly straight! I did not even have to go over them a second time. I literally went from top to bottom in a matter of 5-10 seconds and it was done. My bangs were complete.
I have very thick hair. It’s usually the first thing stylists comment on. Even though my hair is medium-long, it can take a long time to brush, dry, or straighten. So it’s optimal that I can use equipment that will help speed that process!
Over all I was really happy with this product and even if I shall eventually find my CHI, I am retiring it for this Karmin Straightener. It’s light, compact, and works like a charm! If you are wanting one, they retail for about $129 at HairProductsPro.com BUT, come back in the month of November and in partnership with HairProductsPro.com, we will be giving away a free Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Styling Iron as part of my Holiday Gift Guide 2010!
The Karmin G3 Flat Iron will make a FABULOUS gift — so keep checking back for this very generous giveaway!

I used to think that all flat irons were the same until I received a nice ceramic iron. My daughter uses one all the time and won’t use the cheaper model that we have.

Fantastic write-up on Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Styling Iron! Might recommend this one to my wife.
Before I received the Karmin, I had a Remington. It was $20 and worked like magic. The Karmin, being $129, I assumed it would be a better straightener. I also heard MANY wonderful reviews. But not this time! It made my very curly and thick hair dry and brittle. I am very upset with my purshase!!
