Dacia,

I hope that you come back to see this message. I would not worry about your little one being "teeny". Some people just grow teeny babies. As long as they are growing and their organs and development look on track, there should be of no concern. Katelyn ended up being in the 1st percentile or something in weight and 10th for height. She was 5lbs 10oz at birth at 37 weeks, 2 days. She was and is healthy. Like my doctor said, "I just grow small babies!" My first daughter was itty bitty too (even smaller) and she is now in the 40th percentile for height and weight. They DO catch up.

For 27 weeks, next time you have an ultrasound have them check the cord and see its length and position. Katelyn was breech but could not flip because the cord was around her neck. Good luck. :)

Hello!
I searched google for low fetal growth and came up with your site. I enjoyed reading your blog. I am 27 weeks pregnant and just finished seeing ultrasound Dr yesterday, who said our baby is below the 10th percentile in growth. This greatly confuses me because he also said our baby is 2 pounds! 2 pounds at 27 weeks is average as far as I have researched. Apparently our baby is small based on head/leg/stomach measurements. I don't know, but they've been freaking me out every ultrasound saying something is wrong, then it's okay or something is okay then it's wrong. For example, he was concerned our baby is breached, yet again, I'm only 27 weeks and I understand they can stay head up all the way up to 38 weeks! So I'm really not sure. I scheduled an appointment with my reg Dr. in the morning to discuss a second opinion. I had a miscarriage last year and so far all they've done is worry me so I'm not wanting to take any chances!

Awww, congrats! She looks just like you! :) Aren't ultrasounds great? They make it feel real, getting to see your little one for the first time. So glad everything went well and thanks for sharing. Best wishes!
