The Sunday Salon #meme
Reading time: 2 – 3 minutes

Ah, my first time doing The Sunday Salon. So — to be quite honest, not quite sure how to do it correctly. I believe we just chat about what we’re reading and our thoughts (whatever they may be). I guess I should discuss what I am currently reading, Random Magic by Sasha Soren. So far the word, “Genius” comes to mind. It reminds me of a mixture of Harry Potter (word play/magic) and the oddities and strange characters in Alice in Wonderland.
So far one of my favorite parts of this book are the chapter titles. For example, the title of chapter 17 is “In Which the Path Goes Cold, And A Strange, Floating Girl Appears. Coincidence? We Think Not, But You Know What Happens When You Make An Assumption.” You can’t help but laugh. They give you an idea of what is to come but sometimes are just pure humor all on their own accord.
I am a little less than half way finished. I wanted to do nothing more than to read it all day yesterday but my husband won tickets to the UCF football game yesterday, on the 50 yard line — and well, we had a great time. (Even though it was hotter than hell out). Prior to that game we stopped by the Maitland Art Festival, in which the library was having it’s annual book sale. I wish I had known about it earlier.. but even so, we left with a BOX full of book scores! (All less than $1 a piece!)
- LORD JOHN and the Brotherhood of the Blade by Diana Gabaldon
- The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory
- You Have to Kiss a Lot of Frogs by Laurie Graff
- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
- What to Expect: The Toddler Years
- I, Mona Lisa by Jeanne Kalogridis
- The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

- Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson
- Out by Natsu Kirino

Mmmm…you might find my response above to be quite odd. No, I was not trying to be mystical. It’s my first time using this particular form. Apologies.
What I’d intended to say was: Welcome to Sunday Salon! There is no correct way to do it. You can write about whatever you wish! Visit around all TSS posts and leave comments to know you’ve stopped in! Again, welcome!

welcome to the Sunday Salon! Sasha Soren’s book sounds interesting. I love the chapter title you shared. I’ll have to give that one a look.
You’ve got some great books there–and at a terrific deal! Out, The Historian and The Kite Runner are among my favorite books. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is also a terrific book. Enjoy all your new books!
Have a great week!
