Vacation Somewhere New for Spring

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have lived in Orlando, Florida my entire life. So I know a bit about vacations and tourist attractions. But the bad thing about living in such a sought out vacation destination is that you become immune to the magic that surrounds you. Disney World? Okay — been there, done that. The beach? Well — I’ve been there more times in my lifetime than I can possibly count. If you are like me, you need to vacation someplace new; someplace with a new kind of magic.

The world is full of destinations waiting to be discovered. There are many such places right here in our own home country. There is a city a few states away from me on the belt of our friend, MIMAL. The city is Branson, Missouri. Over the past few years, Branson has been brought to my attention quite a few times peaking my interest.

I decided that I would do a little of my own research and see what Branson, Missouri was all about. What did Branson have to offer that I couldn’t find in my own hometown? Surprisingly, Branson is actually quite touristy and is a big vacation spot for residents of Missouri. With all the hype that Florida, California, and New York get in regards to vacations, it seems about the right time to give recognition to other cities and states.

Spring is a wonderful time to vacation. Many schools and colleges are getting a week or so off from school and a spring break is in order. Branson has a place called Silver Dollar City, which is something you can bring your entire family to.

Both the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel are offering some pretty tempting packages, one for only $455 plus tax that includes:

  • 2 Adult Tickets (ages 4 to 11) for 2 full days at Silver Dollar City.
  • $25 food and beverage voucher for Level 2 Steakhouse located on the second floor of the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel .
  • 2 Nights, and Three Days Stay.

Besides the tickets to Silver Dollar City, you can also choose to check out the other local attractions (not included in the package, however.) The 3rd Annual Missouri Food and Wine Festival (yum and more yum) would be a great event to attend, or checking out local Bluegrass bands and BBQ.

Both hotels are within a short distance to Branson’s championship golf courses (for the golf enthusiast in your life), museums, theme parks, and close to 50 live entertainment theaters. With the three day stay that you would have with this specific package, you could attend Silver Dollar City during the day, some shows, good musi,c and food at night and then spend the remaining day playing golf, or cruising around the Food and Wine Festival.

I have two kids so I know the stress that comes with staying somewhere else. Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel has a kids menu, high chairs, and cribs to make vacationing with them more comfortable. It may be a great idea to vacation somewhere new and expose yourself to new cultures in America.

Personally, if we were going to Branson, we would have to stay an extra day for 3 nights and 4 days — just so we can get everything in. A sample of my itinerary is here [click here].

  • Day One: ARRIVAL in Branson, Missouri (early afternoon). The Wine & Food Festival
  • Night One: Acrobats of China (Show)
  • Day  Two: Amazing Pets (Show), Dinosaur Museum, &
  • Night Two: Hollywood Wax Museum
  • Day Three: Silver Dollar City
  • Day Four: Go Home

There were so many shows that it was hard to choose, but I really think the shows I decided on (for the most part) would be something that my kids would enjoy seeing as well. I can just imagine my two year old being completely amazed by the pet show and the dinosaur museum. Then I REALLY want to see the Wizard of Oz wax figures at the Hollywood Wax Museum.

With so many activities to chose from, more than one trip may be needed. But, really, who is complaining?
