Its not 100% official, but I feel confident that it will work out. We have already been approved for private financing and meet with the real estate agent later today to go over prices and contracts. Needless to say, we are excited.
As much as we LOVE Lake Mary (seriously, Lake Mary is the most wonderful city to live in) I am very happy to be moving to Casselberry. It is still in Seminole County and close to good schools. In fact, it is in walking distance of the elementary school that I went to! Even though I am determined to homeschool, it is nice to know that there are good schools near by. Plus both my parents and Forrest’s Dad are much closer as well.
The market, as you know, is pretty low right now. With all the upgrades and remodeling done to this townhouse, we are getting it for a wonderful price! We still have to meet with the agent and discuss specific prices (what our monthly payment should be) and we have a ballpark and so far, it sounds perfect. The only way this would end up falling through is if it was more than we had originally been quoted.
The house is absolutely gorgeous inside and the pictures just don’t do it justice. I do, though, have a particular color palette style and the current colors are a little too dark and warm for my taste. I have been checking out Houzz.com and gaining inspiration. (There are a ZILLION pictures there so be prepared to not get through them in 1 or 20 sittings.)
I would like to paint the current grey-brown crown and floor moldings to a brighter eggshell white I also want to repaint the kitchen from this creme color to a white. I feel it will open up the possibilities to wall colors and decor. As it is now, the options are limited. My style, which hopefully I’ll be able to update in a few months is Pottery Barn meets Ikea. In some rooms I love vibrant colors and in others, very peaceful comfort.
Some great things about this townhouse that I am looking forward to is a screened in porch and fenced in deck/backyard. We don’t have grass and do not need to worry about mowing and lawn care. I am excited about creating a backyard oasis for my children to enjoy. In front of the dual sliding glass entrance to the porch is an area perfectly sized for a play/activity room for our two girls. I will probably replace the currents with something bright and modern from Ikea, and something that will encourage play and creativity. So what you see in these current pictures will change a bit in the next few months (granted and assuming we get the official “sold” status!)
Kate and Carli received these wonderful framed black and white photographs from a family friend this past weekend at their birthday party. Each black and white photo was taken by the giver and it spells out their names. They are so beautiful and special and will be in each of their rooms. Other than that, I am uncertain of the theme I will give each of their rooms. Katelyn is really girly so far (at just a year old) — she loves jewelery, baby dolls, and stuffed animals. Anything you can cuddle to! Carli is 3 so she is starting to love Disney Princesses and anything you can perform!
I am thinking that Carli needs a rock star room with a little built in stage for performing. (By the window) She loves guitars and drums so maybe Forrest will build her a little guitar stand and we can get a standing microphone for her. There is also a really cool play house platform bed we saw on the Ana-White website that looks amazing. I know Carli would just love it!
I am so happy to be moving to a place we can make our own. I am excited that I will have a screened in porch to take my girls outside and play. Currently we are in an apartment with a small porch, that is NOT screened in and right on the lake. Needless to say, I do not feel safe at all taking them outside to play. I can’t wait to have a place where Carli can paint, and play in sand, and water — and ride around. But also have a place where Forrest and I can entertain guests.
I am excited and if all goes according to plan, we would be moving in less than two months!

LOOOOVE those floors. Congratulations!

Congrats!! I’m looking for a house too! I’m going to see one tonight.
That’s great new! Congrats to you!
Congratulations!
Hi Allison,
Congratulations in getting a new house. The interiors looks okay with me, but I know nothing beats with the one that you are planning to have in mind.
We also got a new house last year and it costs us 10 years to pay for it. But nevertheless, i know its all worth it. Cheers for a peaceful and successful living.
Warmly,
Virginia
